In kindergarten my parents - a photojournalist and a writer - gave me a 110 camera. That began my love affair with documenting the world around me, as an autobiographical practice. As a native Chicagoan, I'm inspired by everything from brick bungalows to intricate Louis Sullivan designs, from kids at the playground to street musicians and public sculpture, from Lake Michigan to the forest preserves. I am drawn to the unique details of a place, especially those which speak to the experience of living at this particular time in history.
